BRENDA HERRERA MORENOWhy I March: I march because it is one way of creating collective visibility of issues that affect our lives.
At an early age, Brenda moved with her family from Mexico to India, and then to South Carolina at the age of 11. Confronted with forces of American assimilation, Brenda formed the beginnings of her passion of social justice and advocacy. She works to create unique integration programs for refugee and immigrant youth, is a peer recovery coach, and a counselor and advocate for survivors and victims of domestic violence. In 2016, Brenda founded (In)Visible Paradigms which provides a space for White individuals to openly discuss, express curiosities and concerns about anti-oppression, privilege and allyship. This is her first year of involvement with the March. |
Sharon HwangWhy I March: I march because I want to see a brighter future for my daughter and all future generations.
Sharon Hwang was born and raised in Colorado. She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer and currently owns The Wellness Center inside Whole Foods Market which offers: Massage Therapy, Chiropractic Care, Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture. She is a current member of Good Business Colorado, and volunteers for Denver Urban Scholars. She lives in Denver with her husband and daughter. In her free time she enjoys travelling, hiking, biking, and hanging out friends and family. This is her second year of involvement with the March and her first on the Executive Leadership Team. |
KERRy O'GradyKerry O'Grady spent 25 years as a Special Agent in the white, male-dominated field of federal law enforcement. She is a witness to the fact that working hard and being good at what you do does not resolve workplace disparities and unconscious biasses that prevent women and minorities from obtaining equality in the workplace or in the criminal justice system. She is determined to use her privilege and energy to mobilize around a movement that uplifts women and strives to dismantle systems of oppression.
